Professional development

Find out how you can develop your skills at home and abroad.

The British Council’s Connecting Classrooms programme offers a range of courses to improve the skills you need for internationalising the curriculum within your school through running collaborative projects with teachers and students from other countries.

International School Award

If you are looking for ways you can gain recognition for your school’s efforts in allowing pupils to learn about other cultures, British Council has designed a programme tailored to your needs.

The International School Award (ISA) is an internationally recognised accreditation that provides schools and pre-schools with a framework for collaboration with international partners, sharing best practice, and opening young people’s eyes and minds to the realities of the globalised world. ISA is available to any educational institution, recognising different levels of achievement in international work. It prepares young people for life in a global society by embedding international learning in the curriculum and provides a motivational framework for teachers and school leaders to develop themselves professionally.

Institutions eligible for the International School Award: preschools, primary schools and secondary schools.

For more information please contact the Project Manager, Gabriel Ivan.
