british-documentary-arts

Started in 2010 by the British Council in Romania, the British Documentary project has brought award-winning British documentaries to over 15 cities across Romania every year.

For each edition we selected the best of British documentaries which have been either nominated or awarded by the Grierson Trust at The British Documentary Awards, one of the most prominent events of its kind. The films shed light on some of nowadays most fervent issues, from environmental activism, politics and arts to society, the media and many more.

All documentaries were subtitled in Romanian and entry was free of charge.

See below information about the British Documentary editions held across Romania between 2010-2020.

Previous editions

Over the past ten years, the "British Documentary" project traveled to many cities in Romania with the help of our partners.
