From November and on join us for the Shakespeare Book Club. We will be reading selected passages from Shakespeare’s plays, followed by discussions and debates, in Romanian. During the meetings, we will make use of bilingual versions of Shakespeare’s texts. The discussions will focus on cultural, philosophical, and literary elements, such as story, theme, and characters. Throughout the meetings, the discussions will be moderated, and a general presentation of the text will be done by one of the Book Club’s members.
The Club’s moderator will be Maftei Stefan, PhD, Lecturer, Department of Philosophy, Babeş-Bolyai University.
The Shakespeare Book Club will gather in the Library, at the British Council, between 16:00 and 18:00, usually on every second and fourth Wednesday of each month.
The Club is open to everyone interested in Shakespeare’s plays, however a valid British Council Library Card is needed to attend the Club’s meetings.
Reading and discussions for the first edition will focus on: Love’s Labour’s Lost / Zadarnicele chinuri ale dragostei (1598)
