British Council trainers: Anca Oproiu, Laura Rebeca Stiegelbauer, Liana Gherdan
Anca Oproiu: Anca has worked in English language education since 2001, teaching students of every age, level and background in private language schools, universities, and the British Council centres around the world, in many different countries in Europe, Asia, and North Africa. She has a wide range of experience as a teacher, examiner, materials writer and, as a teacher educator she has regularly delivered INSET training sessions globally within and on behalf of the British Council, Cambridge Assessment English exam related presentations, webinars and workshops. She also designed and lead ELT workshops, talks and webinars on exam preparation, English for specific purposes, EAP and many others.
Laura-Rebeca Stiegelbauer: Laura is a dedicated teacher of English and researcher with a strong passion for linguistics, teacher training methodology, and translation studies. With extensive experience in the education system in Romania, she specialises in equipping both students and educators with innovative strategies for Cambridge exam success. Her expertise lies in integrating AI-driven tools and digital resources to enhance language learning, assessment, and classroom engagement.
Maria Elena (Liana) Gherdan: Liana has been working in teacher education for more than two decades at the University of Oradea. Her role involves providing training to pre- and in-service teachers of English. She is also a Cambridge oral examiner and works with British Council Romania as an exams presenter (Cambridge, IELTS), having extensive experience of teaching English to different age groups and assisting teachers in various educational contexts in preparing students for language tests.
