FAQs Primary Plus / Secondary Plus Virtual

In the current context, we've developed a virtual classroom solution, so that Primary Plus, Lower and Upper Secondary students can continue learning English while regular classes are temporarily suspended. Virtual lessons are designed to cover the same skills and provide the same progress as regular classes.

See below answers to some of the frequently asked questions about the migration to Virtual Classroom for students in Primary Plus, Lower Secondary, Upper Secondary.

What is Primary Plus Virtual and Secondary Plus Virtual?

Primary / Secondary Plus Virtual offers your child the opportunity to engage with their British Council Primary / Secondary Plus course and teacher in a 60-minute live interactive virtual class supplemented by quality online material for home study.

Your child will join a group with up to seven other students at their level in one of our friendly group classes, led by a British Council teacher. They will work through a Primary / Secondary Plus module in the virtual classroom and take part in online interactive practice activities. They will be able to access online content before their virtual class so that they can prepare, and they will have some activities to complete after their class is finished.

What if my child is unable to take these classes?

We will refund you the amount for any classes that you paid and we were unable to deliver.

How will you calculate the number of missed classes?

We will ensure that any missed classes will be made up. For any additional classes that you have paid for in the final instalment but which we are unable to deliver, you will be refunded.

We will make the final calculations at the end of semester two.

Have you changed the deadline for the final instalment?

Yes, we have pushed back the deadline to 29 April to allow you more time to pay.

Are there any changes to the value of the final instalment?

The amount remains the same.

How can I pay the final instalment?

You can pay by bank transfer using the details: British Council, RO32CITI0000000826012234 (RON) – Citibank Romania. Please include the student’s full name and the student number in the payment details. There is no need to send us the proof of payment; you will receive a payment confirmation as soon as the paid amount will be shown on our bank reports.

When is the Easter break?

There will be no classes from 13 to 20 April inclusive.

When will you resume the face-to-face English courses at the British Council?

We will only be able to do so when we receive the go-ahead from the Romanian authorities. In the meantime, we are confident your child will enjoy their virtual face-to-face classes with their teacher.
